My Goal as an Editor

As your editor, my aim is to refine your writing and bring you one step closer to having a publishable piece of work. In addition to that, I offer feedback on your writing style that will help your quality of writing on every project you work on going forward.
As I scour your work, I’ll remain detail oriented, focused on guaranteeing your writing is readable, clear, and error-free. In that process, however, I don’t lose sight of the bigger picture. I strive to ensure your story is meaningful, relatable, and realistic. Everything from consistent world building, to believable characters, to the quality of your arguments and ideas will be under consideration.

Editing Services
Copy Editing:
Copy editing is a thorough service, which involves correcting spelling, punctuation, and grammar, as well as restructuring sentences to ensure each line is clear, has a good rhythm, and fits the tone of the work. This service also includes eliminating unnecessary words and sentences, and looks at word choice to maximize effect.
Costs $.015 per word
Developmental Editing:
Developmental editing looks into the foundational elements of your manuscript, including plot structure, character arcs, thematic depth, pacing, and overall narrative coherence, providing detailed constructive feedback on strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for enhancement. Unlike lighter feedback services, this involves collaborative in-text rewrites and revisions for key passages following our discussions, complemented by inline highlights, margin comments, and a comprehensive editor’s report that synthesizes my analysis and actionable recommendations to elevate your work.
Costs $0.02 per word
Beta Reading:
As a beta reader, I’ll offer general impressions on key aspects of your manuscript like plot, characters, and themes, with some suggestions for potential improvements. This doesn’t involve any direct edits to the text, but includes basic comments in places that stand out, highlighting what I like and don’t like about the text, plus a simple report summarizing my overall thoughts.
Costs a flat rate of $150 for manuscripts 60k to 100k words. Shorter works are negotiable.
All payments will be handled through PayPal. A down payment is required prior to beginning work, and payment plans are available upon request.
